We are design aficionados, we work to create products as a tool and a means for adventure, pleasure, aesthetics, and fitness.
We are also designers, entrepreneurs, tinkerers, and adventure nuts. We love the outdoors, the indoors, and everything that life has brought us thus far.
Motivation
As avid makers, we have figured out how to solve the problems of quality craftsmansship, locally.
The three issues are interrelated
High power leds create a lot of heat. The problem is when the led gets too hot it starts to degrade. You can sometimes find buried in a product manual a suggestion not to continuously leave the product in ‘high’ mode or else damage to the led may occur. The reality is: it does occur, disappointedly fast.
The battery life on the high settings and is never as good as the manufacturer claims and just gets worse as the battery ages.
The solution has been while riding, change the setting to a dimmer mode when going up hills or going slower and change back to a high setting when going faster. This proves to be an inefficient and very annoying task. You have to cycle off first, then through several brightness settings, a blinking mode (don’t get me started on that) before you get to the desired setting. if you click one extra time by accident you have to cycle through again, meanwhile you only have one hand on the handlebar and one break. Conservation to increase performance
Usually in the engineering world, conservation and performance are at separate ends of a spectrum, performance is sacrificed when the practicality of conservation is applied. Celler saves power by not being at full blast all the time. We are proud of energy and carbon footprint savings Celler accomplishes, however, it is the performance enhancements that have guided our design decisions.
